Full House

When I was a kid, I used to watch an American serial that is called " Full House ". It was displayed on the Second channel of the Saudi TV. So, this serial is a part of my childhood. I grew up with D.J. , Stephanie, and Michelle. They were my friends! I loved the way they spent their days. Moreover, I was amazed by how both their father and uncles solved the problems. It was the only American comedy that all my family enjoyed.

I saw three seasons of this serial on TV, but I didn't watch the latest seasons because they weren't shown on TV. As a result, when I came to the United States, I hoped to see them. Unfortunately, this serial was old, so I didn't find it on TV channels. Later, I figured out that the only way to watch it is by buying Full House DVD. Thus, I searched on Amazone.com, and " yes " I found it. So I placed my order then in four days I received the DVDs. I stated watching the serial from the first season. Oh my God, it brought a lot of nice memories back!
You can buy the first and second season for only $5, While the latest seasons are sold for about $10 for season. What a good deal, isn't it?

Shopping In Denver

Who doesn't like shopping! It's considered one of the most interesting things to do when you have a leisure time. In addition, as an international student who are new in the town, I think it might be useful to know where can you go shopping in Denver. So, why don't we get started, and show you some of the wonderful shopping centers in Denver.

First: Park Meadows
It is my favorite! It is a huge mall where anything you are looking for will be found. You can buy clothes from  famous brand names. Moreover, you will enjoy being in Border bookstore. In fact, I have bought some interesting books in attractive prices. Then, after you finish shopping you will find a variety of restaurants choices in the restaurant zone. Furthermore, there are many amazing restaurants around the mall. As a result, each time you visit Park Meadows you will find shops and restaurants that you haven't experienced yet. I highly recommend you to visit this amazing shopping center.

Second: 16th Street Mall
When you go shopping on the 16th street Mall, you might think that you are in New York! the skyscrapers and general atmosphere is different than what you are used to in Denver. It is a unique place where different kinds of restaurants are located. Thus, many visits are required if you was thinking about discovering every shop and restaurant there. You are going to have fun when you visit 16th street mall.

Third: Cherry Creek Mall
Cherry Creek Mall is known as one of the famous shopping centers in Denver where you can find many brand names. Many international students enjoy go shopping there , especially because there is a good movie theater where you buy the ticket for only $5. The only thing I don't like in Cherry Creek Mall is that there is a small number of restaurants. Anyway, it still a very good place where you can enjoy not only shopping but also watching movies.

*Note: the 16th street Mall was taken from Denver infill .

Damascus Restaurant

The last weekend, I was invited for dinner in a very special restaurant. I had no idea which kind of restaurant it will be, but I was hoping that that restaurant offers barbecue because I really missed the Lebanese grilled food.

We drove to Arapahoe Street. Then the car stopped by Damascus restaurant. It was very exciting that I was going to have dinner in a Syrian restaurant because the Syrian food is similar to the Lebanese food.

In the restaurant, not only was the atmosphere very welcoming ,but also the place looked very nice. The only problem I faced was deciding what I was going to choose for dinner! The choices were many, and I was so hungry that I would order every thing in that menu! Finally. I decided to have hummus, stuffed grape leaves, taboulah and a mix of the grilled meat and chicken.

The Hummus was delicious. In fact, it was the best hummus. The restaurant offers a special bread that is served from the oven to your table directly. It was both fresh and yummy.

The taboula is a vegetarian meal. It is made using tomato, cucumber, mint, parsley, and olive oil. It is a famous Lebanese side dish. You must try Damascus restaurant’s version of it.

I really enjoyed my meal in Damascus restaurant, and I can’t wait to have another meal there. That is why I strongly encourage you to visit this restaurant and enjoy the Arabic food that is provided there.

Downtown Aquarium

One of the most interesting things that I had been looking forward doing since I came to Denver was visiting the aquarium. I have visited an aquarium once in my life when I was a kid. Now, as an adult, the visit to the aquarium would be more special.
During one of the school days, I figured out that my friend Alaa is also interested in visiting the aquarium, so we decided to plan together to visit the Aquarium with our families on the next Saturday.
The plan was the following. First, the gathering point will be at University of Denver station, then we'll take the E line to Invesco feild at Mile High. after that we'll walk to the aquarium for 20 minuets.  Second, after exploring the aquarium we'll have lunch at Cheese Cake Factory. Finally, we are going to walk in the Downtown.

On Saturday, at 9:30 am the journey began. When we got of from the light rail we walked by the river and took some pictures. The weather was sunny and warm which was a perfect weather for walking. At 10:30 we were standing in front of the Downtown Aquarium. The area looked very nice, so we were very excited.

There was a machine that blows bubbles in the air, and children were chasing these bubbles. It was really a cute view that made our hearts happy. In the aquarium we saw the different kinds of fishes and under sea creatures. I liked the ducks, the big turtle, and the sharks. Although the aquarium design and creatures were unique, it was a little bit strange to see a tiger there!

After we had had a nice tour in the aquarium we started to feel hungry, so we went Downtown to have a fancy lunch at Cheese Cake Factory. It is Alaa's favorite restaurant, and it really was good.

Finally we walked about two hours in 16th street mall. It was my first time to see the Downtown. I liked the place so much especially because I was with a very nice company. Finally, I have to Thank my nice friend Alaa and her lovely family for the wonderful time we had together that day.

Looking for a special Breakfast?

I love Saturdays because it's the day we have our breakfast in a very special american restaurant. This restaurant offers the best pancakes, French toast, and coffee. It also offers a large verity of the most amazing choices. This restaurant called Village Inn . I have been having my Saturday breakfast in Village Inn since I arrived at Denver.

I like this restaurant not only because it offers the best breakfast you would ever have, but because it offers a very comfortable atmosphere too. The waitresses are so friendly; moreover, their service is very good.

Here is one of the VIP breakfast choices, where you can choose four from thirty delicious choices for only $7 . The picture above shows one of my favorite meals in Village Inn. It includes French toast + strawberry crepe + cheese omelet + country potatoes. I also tried Their French toast with strawberry and banana which was terrific. For more choices, chick their electronic menu!

Before you leave Village Inn, don't forget to buy one of their spectacular pies. They offer a verity of pies such as apple pie, cherry pie, and strawberry pies. You can buy a hole pie for about $10 ,or you can enjoy only a piece of it for nearly $3.

I'm sure you will find a branch for Village Inn near from you because they have more than 20 branch in Denver. Click here to find the nearest branch to you.

*Note: this restaurant's meals are very huge! so, it's important to be very hungry when you go there; however, you can ask the waitress to bring you a box, so you can enjoy the leftovers later!

Our field Trip to Coors Field

On Thursday, April 12th , We had a field trip to Denver's baseball field which called Coors Field. We had been convened in University of Denver station at 9 a.m. It was snowing, and we were excited about having a field trip in a Coloradan weather.
Our field trip started at 10 a.m. Our tour guide ,who was a very nice lady, told us a lot about Coors Field. One of the most interesting information she told us was the special meaning of the purple row of seats. When any one set on one of those purple seats, he will be a mile high from the sea level! How cool is that. I wish to attend a baseball game and set on one of these purple seats.

In Coors Field the ball can travels 10% more than any baseball field. It travels for about 440 foot.

It was a very unique place to visit. Thank you very much Michele for the nice time we had with you in Coors Field. We learned a lot about one of the famous American sports. Actually, we have been learning a lot about the American culture since we started to post in this blog.

Cherry Creek Park

On Saturday, we went to Cherry Creek Park. The weather was great, so we decided to walk to the park. It took us an hour of walking, but it was an hour of enjoyment because of the outstanding views.

While we were walking, we saw a lot of people walking, running, or riding their bikes. Truly, the best thing I saw on our way to the park was a grandmother walking with three of her granddaughters. They were happy and excited, so we greeted them then continue to walk.
We arrived at the park about 6:00 p.m. and started exploring it. But unfortunately, we only had half an hour to spend it in the park before the sunset because the way home will take an hour!
Our highest priority was to see the lake and take some photos. In fact it was very exciting to see the geese walking and swimming.

In Cherry Creek Park you don't just watch the lake! But there are places were you can grill and have a nice meal. Many families were sitting around the lake eating, playing, and enjoying their time.
We have stayed in Cherry Creek Park for about an hour and now its time to go home.
